Sixth North Carolina Candlewood Suites Opens

WICHITA, Kan., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The sixth Virginia Candlewood Suites and the 99th nationwide is now open at 5113 Plaza Drive in Hopewell, Va.

The newly constructed Petersburg-Hopewell Candlewood Suites is conveniently located off Interstate 295, exit 9B, at the corner of Tri-Cities and Plaza Drives. The hotel, situated in the Crossings Shopping Center, is also near Interstate 95, and about 22 miles from Richmond International Airport in Richmond, Va.

Business travelers will appreciate its proximity to the Industrial Hopewell business district, less than eight miles away. Allied Chemical, Honeywell and Philip Morris Companies are all based there. The hotel is also just two miles from the U.S. Army's Fort Lee Combined Arms Support Command in Fort Lee, Va.

For leisure travelers, the hotel is near boutiques and restaurants in Hopewell's historic district, as well as Civil War battlefield grounds in nearby Petersburg, Va. Southpark Mall is just two miles away. Many restaurants are within walking distance.

The new hotel features 60 suites: 12 one-bedrooms; 21 studios; and 27 studio doubles. Each suite includes a complete kitchen, 25-inch television, recliner, large business desk, adjustable executive chair, and two phone lines including data port. The studio double suites feature two full-size beds.

Other amenities include free local phone calls, low-cost long distance, 25-cent soft drinks, free laundry facilities, free video and CD checkouts and an upscale exercise room. Food items, snacks and sundries are available 24-hours-a-day at grocery store prices from the honor-based Candlewood Cupboard pantry.
