MIRAMAR, FL—The Generation Companies LLC recently broke ground here for a 75-room Candlewood Suites located at 11396 US 98 West. The $8.2 million new-construction hotel is scheduled to open in March.

"We are pleased to be reentering the Destin market so quickly after the hotel we had been operating in this area was sold to Blackstone [Group],” said H. Mark Daley, president/The Generation Cos.

The Candlewood Suites/Destin will provide an amenity package that includes: two phones using T1 lines with data ports throughout the suite; free wireless and wired Internet service; an oversize desk and executive chair; a recliner; bulletin board; and a fully equipped kitchen.

All rooms will feature at least one 32-inch, LCD television with DVD player, full-size ironing board and iron.

The Candlewood will also offer a complete exercise room, free access to washers and dryers, free local telephone calls, a complimentary video and CD library, and the Candlewood Cupboard, a 24-hour honor system pantry.
