Ronald S. Jacobsen, Vice President of Operations
Ronald S. Jacobsen is a founding executive and board member of The Generation Companies formed in 1996. Prior to this role, he served as Vice President of Operations for Generation’s sister company Daley Corporation a closely held real estate development and management company. Mr. Jacobsen is a current member of the International Association of Holiday Inn Owners (IAHI) Candlewood Suites Brand Committee and former member of Marketing Fund Committee of Candlewood Hotel Company.

With The Generation Companies Mr. Jacobsen leads and exceptional team of hospitality veterans in the overall implementation of hotel strategy, property-level operations, recruitment and training and sales areas. He also provides essential decision support for hotel acquisitions and development primarily via financial analysis and operational due diligence.

He has over 21 years of business operations experience engaged in building values-based teams, growing revenue, creating systems, effecting turnarounds, leading sales teams and strategic growth programs. For the first eight years of his career, Mr. Jacobsen was involved in operations and consulting for the health care industry. Mr. Jacobsen has served multiple non-profit enterprises and helped propel emerging issues. He earned a B.S. in Business Management from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, OK.

Rick Stroud, Regional Operations Manager
Rick Stroud joined The Generation Companies in the summer of 1998. Mr. Stroud oversees the operations of the Suburban Lodges of Fayetteville, Greensboro and Louisville. His experience includes 6 years with Winston Hotels and a year as the Director of Operations with the Richmond Hill Inn. Mr. Stroud holds a degree in Hospitality Management from Appalachian State University.

 

Gary Hopkins, I.T. Coordinator
Gary Hopkins joined the Generation's staff in June, 2004 as the Suburban Brand\I.T. Coordinator. He join's our staff with over 15 years of Hospitality and I.T. experience, most recently working as Third Tier Support for the Hilton Hotels I.T. team and as a RBC Centura program analyst.
Gary graduated from the Salt Lake City Technical College in 1981 as a Master Electrician. He received his MCP certification from Microsoft in 2000.



James Bowman , Suburban Brand Coordinator
James Bowman joined the Generation Companies in December 2006 as the Suburban Brand Coordinator.  James began his career in hospitality as a manager of a fine dining restaurant, and joined Generation Companies in 2004 as the Assistant General Manager of the Candlewood Suites in Herndon, VA.  A 2004 graduate of Virginia Tech James holds a B.S. in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a minor in Business.

Teressa Holman, HR & Process Improvement Coordinator
Teressa joined The Generation Companies in October 2005 as the HR & Process Improvement Coordinator. Teressa conducts all of the company’s daily human resource activities and keeps the staff knowledgeable of upcoming company events and changes as a diligent and resourceful employee relations representative. Teressa holds a B.S. in Business Administration from North Carolina Wesleyan College as well as an MBA with a concentration in Human Resources from Strayer University.
